The Opening of UpRoar at The Lawrence House

I’ve said several times since moving to Sarnia in 2016, that Lambton county doesn’t appreciate its high number of quality authors, who write in a great variety of genres. We have people working on/publishing children’s books, young people’s novels, business books, self-help books, histories of memorable residents, histories of this region, local aboriginal history, novels, short fiction collections, memoirs, poetry, and I wouldn’t doubt there are some cookbook authors as well. I’m told Lambton county used to be a regular source for authors by CBC radio a couple of decades ago. The passing of those several authors does not leave blank spaces in the community of authors though. It’s wonderful to see the Lawrence House providing an online space for local authors to express themselves and share their insights. I would suggest that making it possible to share brief videos of readings (3-5 minutes) would be another plus.
