Floyd Gibson Juried Show 2026 – The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts

The Annual Floyd Gibson Members’ Show runs from

February 6, 2026 through February 27, 2026.

The Exhibition is named in memory of the late Floyd Gibson, who was a respected Sarnia educator, water colour artist and dedicated volunteer at the Lawrence House.

The Mayor’s Awards, donated by the City of Sarnia, of $250 for first, $150 for second and $100 for third place will be awarded as decided by the jury. Prizes will be presented to the winner at 7:00 pm on First Friday, February 6th.

Artists may submit one original work of art created within the last two years and not previously shown in Lambton County. Participating artists must be members of The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts. Participants must also be residents of Lambton County or work full time in Lambton County. You must pre-register on line before Thursday January 29, 2026 Intake is Saturday January 31, 11:00-3:00. If you unable to bring in work on this day, please make arrangements to bring it in before February 1. No work will be accepted after February 1st.

All 2D art must be properly framed and securely wired across the entire back of the piece. 2D pieces should be no larger than 20 sq. feet eg. 4’x5′,3’x6′ framed. Gallery wrapped canvases should have finished edges and no visible staples. To review our standards click the link:

Responsibilities of the Artist:*
- I Agree, that the Artist shall be responsible for: a. ensuring that all 2D work is suitably framed with proper hanging devices as per Lawrence House standards. b. carrying any and all insurance for the works against fire, theft and vandalism while the works are on LH property. c. agreeing that LHCA, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to reject any work from being exhibited. d. understanding that while the utmost care will be taken in protecting the works, LHCA carries no liability or responsibility for artwork in its care.
