The ladder
The head mason of the demolition squad
shouted the labours to look for the bamboo ladder
a tall one about 10 feet
The sprawling centuries old mansion
needed dozens of ladders but the team
had been managing with
only one which went missing
The workers felled some casuarinas
and made a make shift ladder
but the head man was sceptical
he remained irritated and lost
Within two weeks the force
pulled down the mansion
and when they packed up
the missing ladder surfaced with a thud
with an addition of two symbols
The upper most step
of the ladder carried symbol of a boomerang
and the bottom most of an apple
